This has to be one of my favourite songs of the moment

Kutless - Winds of Change

From the album Hearts of the Innocent

Can you feel the pains in life?

Wrapped around you like they’re chains

Restricting all your dreams

Do you wonder if there is a way?

A way to set you free

Set you free

Chorus:

So tell me all your dreams

Tell me all your fears and what you’re longing for the most

It’s not another way that’ll end up the same for it’s under my control

Do you feel the winds of change?

Soon this weight will fall away

And take you to a place

Only found through these winds of change

A breeze that’s new and free

New and free

Chorus:

I’ll be the one who you can cry to

The one who will give you wings

I will give you wings

Someday we’ll sail away

Mounted up on wings like eagles

We will run and not fade away

Chorus: (2x’s)

I’ll be the one who you can cry to

The one who will give you wings

I’ll give you wings

I’ll give you wings to set you free

"But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." - Isaiah 40:31

Ear Pics

Ok...after a posting by a certain anonymous person, I figured that the whole "ear pics" needs some explaining. I GOT MY EARS PIERCED!!! Yay! I'm really happy...I've wanted it done since...well...childhood. I was "officially" allowed when I was 16 but was content without it but then last Monday (yeah...I know...it was a week ago...sorry for keeping you in the dark), I got a strong urge to do it. As my dad says, "Why would you want to put holes in your head???" My answer? Because it's pretty :).

Here's some pics...warning...was not really photogenic that day and recently I've been having a problem of having my mouth open while pictures are taken.

Before the piercing...my last picture without holes in my ears!

Right after my ear was shot...mouth open and everything...gotta love the hair clips :).

And now time for the other ear!!!

Me and Nancy (yes, she got hers pierced too!) at the Chickenburger...showing off our ears...well...kind of :). At least you can see one of my ears in this pic!

The longest-spanning birthday ever!

This week has been absolutely incredible...well, at least the last 5 days :). It was my birthday on Wednesday! I'm 19 now! It still hasn't quite hit me yet, although I do get random bursts of excitement.

Here are some highlights of the celebrations:
1. Everyone at C4C singing happy birthday to me as I stood on a chair in the front of the room.
2. Relaxing with my family Wednesday night over donair pizza and caramel cake.
3. Playing SCRABBLE Friday night...you know you're sheltered from the world when... ;).
4. Eating microwaved cheesecake!
5. Talking with Sarah! Man, how I miss you!
6. Going to the Economy Shoe Shop and showing my ID...finally allowed in...after all these years!
7. Wearing a tiara and getting yelled at.
8. Fun times with my girls!
9. Getting to bed early...haha...I should rephrase that...early Saturday morning!
10. Seeing Nancy!!! Welcome to Halifax!!! Sorry it's not as big as Vancouver :P.
11. Dinner and movie with Christine and Nancy...and explaining FedEx to Nancy...haha.
12. A surprise from Esther! You're so sweet!!! I really need to visit Vancouver soon.

Thanks to everyone who celebrated with me - whether it was a quick "Happy Birthday" on Facebook/a blog/over the phone or hanging out, I really did appreciate it and I love you all!

Birthday at home :).

My sisters and Nancy at the Fireside...yummm.

Heading out downtown...see something that sticks out in this picture? In the form of something on my head? lol

What are the chances...

So, for everyone who took stats, what's the probability that I can master Sn1, Sn2, E1, and E2 reactions for tomorrow's exam at 7pm? Organic compounds are starting to make me go a little crazy...

Not so sure what this molecule is or what it does...but this is what everything's starting to look like in my head...okay...time for sleep!

Time flies when you're having fun...or when school won't let you rest!

It's crazy how fast the month of October went. I feel like I'm looking back on it and saying "Where did you goooooooooo?" And then I got flash backs of the first day of third year...then the first day of first year. It's amazing how you can close your eyes and imagine yourself being in the past - you can feel the movements, the aromas, the sights...the brain is amazing! Sometimes I just sit in wonder of its complexities and be in awe of the God of the universe who made it!

This week has been...ummm...ok. Actually, really good. Especially in Evolution. Dr. Johnston is awesome! On Tuesday, he comes into class saying, "So...that midterm was pretty hard, huh. But don't worry, I have a plan!" Yesterday he tells us the plan: "So...the class average was...53%. Yeah...it's a wonder I'm still alive after grading them. That exam was pretty hard...12 points too hard actually. So everyone gets 12 points added to their mark! And if you do better on the final, your midterm will be dropped!" Thought to self: I love you!!!

That was definitely the highlight of the week. Other highlights?
1. I finished the book "What's So Amazing About Grace?" So good!!! I really feel God used it to teach me alot about Himself and myself also and how I treat others. Highly recommend it!
2. Last Saturday I went horseback riding!!! I haven't gone since I was 3 years old where I almost got flung off the back of a horse so it was really exciting to get on one again. My horse was really cute...his name was Frankie and he was really good to me :).
3. Record time for being done chem lab: 45 minutes!!! Today was awesome!
4. Physiology lab - watching reflexes and seeing that I have none :D.
5. Here's what WILL be a highlight: studying Organic Chem from 9-4 tomorrow with Matt...woohoo...we're totally going hard-core and aiming high...A+ here I come...or maybe a B would be nice :).
